Learn Bayesian Data Analysis with Michael Betancourt, a core developer of Stan & expert on Hamilton Monte Carlo

    • Logo Stan Platform.jpg

The Institut de Neurosciences des Systèmes in Marseille is happy to announce a workshop collaboration with Michael Betancourt, a core developer of the popular platform Stan and expert on Hamilton Monte Carlo!

Bayesian Data Analysis is a key methodology for advanced brain simulation with The Virtual Brain, as can be seen in the Bayesian Virtual Epileptic Patient.

Stan is a state-of-the-art platform for statistical modeling and high-performance statistical computation. Thousands of users rely on Stan for statistical modeling, data analysis, and prediction in the social, biological, and physical sciences, engineering, and business.

That's why the Institut de Neurosciences des Systèmes (INS) of Aix-Marseille Université is very happy to announce a 3-day workshop with Michael Betancourt, one of Stan's core developers and a noted statistician and Hamilton Monte Carlo expert!

Michael is widely praised as excellent educator and will be guest of the INS in Marseille from May 17 – 19, taking you on a deep, highly interactive journey into

    • Probabilistic modelling
    • Identifiability and degeneracy
    • Model building Bayesian workflow
    • Hierarchical modeling

Registration deadline for this unique workshop opportunity is May 12, 2022!

So don't hesitate and register right away!

TVB at 5th HBP School on Brain Disease Neuroscience in Austria

Members of The Virtual Brain group presented at the week long Human Brain Project (HBP) School with a geared focus on dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy and stroke from a multi-scale perspective. In total, there was 29 students that benefited from attending this hands on, interactive learning initiative.

A very big Thank You to HBP for including us in such a successful and influential opportunity.
